What an exciting year 2009 has been in the sewing industry. A  beautiful new top line machines in  the Husqvarna Viking  line was introduced in the second half of 2008,  the HUSQVARNA  VIKING  DIAMOND.  This exciting machine just had a new update.  These new features were shown at dealer training and are now available to download directly into your Diamond.  These new features include an entire new Z menu which has 44 decorative stitches that automatically taper.  There are 20 new stitches in the D, H, and N menus.   Zoom to box and zoom to curser for easy design positioning.  It is now possible to lower the needle when doing design positioning.  Select icons or list view of the designs in File Manager make for easier selection of designs.  You can now baste around the design, but also baste around the hoop area.  After this new update is installed in your Designer Diamond, you will be able to do future updates from a USB stick instead of hooking up to the computer.

A fun new Texture hoop was introduced which works on the Designer Series of machines and the Platinum 955.  In using this hoop, I have never had so much fun with ribbon and trim.  Stop in and see this great new hoop.  The other new accessories introduced are as follows:  A new 9mm flat felled foot.  Interchangeable Dual Feed Foot, with both a straight stitch foot as well as zig zag for using decorative stitches.  An optional changeable quilters foot to snap into the interchangeable Dual Feed Foot for ditch quilting.

New Husqvarna Viking designs were also introduced:   Handlook Needlework, Thread Velvet And Yarn, Majestic Cutwork, and the Texture Hoop, Ribbons & Flowers Disk.  Stop in and see these great new designs.

Now on to the BROTHER QUATTRO 6000D.  This new top of the line machine has some very exclusive features.  Sharp created the large color HD LCD wide-angle screen.  It has the exclusive Innoveye Technology and Snowman Embroidery Marker.  Print and Stitch Technology to combine printed images with embroidery designs for 3D art.  This machine has a full 10 inch space to the right of the needle.  Great for quilting.  Oh by the way, Quattro means  four  - Embroidery, Sewing, Quilting & Crafting.  This machine does it all.  There are many new designs built into the machine as well as the ever popular DISNEY DESIGNS.  The new built in initial designs have to be seen to be appreciated for their beauty.  We even have a Greek alphabet now which is great for the college kids.  For the scrapbooker and crafter, you can sew without thread for paper punching.  You can also sew on this machine without removing the embroidery unit.   The new 8 x 8 quilters hoop now comes with this machine.  This is truly a delightful machine to use.   Stop in and see it's exciting features and ease of use today.

Another new edition to the store is the 18" long arm quilting machine and frame.  This machine gives the quilter everything she needs to produce those beautiful machine quilted quilts.  The QBot can be added to the machine and then you can watch the design evolve.  Whether feathers or hearts are your favorite, QBot does it for you.  There are additional patterns availabe for the QBot or if you prefer, software is availabe and you can then design your own patterns and transfer them to the SD card that the QBot uses.

We are still carrying the midarm Brother with the Handiquilter Quilt frame for the person who doesn't want the 18" arm.   So if a quilt frame and machine is on your wish list, be sure and check us out.

Dakota Collectibles has a great selection of embroidery designs right now.  There are 3D flowers, cutwork, lace ornaments, seasonal wall hangings, plus the normal display of their designs.  They are still working hard on their embroidery clubs which come out quarterly.  You get the $5.00 off coupon, plus two free downloads from their website as well as the instructions for the projects to use the designs on.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who donated to our PROJECT LINUS  collection this year.  We had another great event and collected over 200 blankets for the children.  Project Linus is such a good cause and the blankets all stay in the state.  We gave a sewing machine away again at the end of the collection drive.  This year Debra Marlar won the Brother sewing machine.   Debra is from Lincoln and said that she was going to give the machine to her daughter.  Here comes another Quilter I hope.  Start making those blankets for the kids who are hospitalized now and you also can donate during the drive next year .  Every blanket donated gets an entry in the drawing so everyone has a chance to get something in return.  We will also take the blankets you have ready any time if you prefer to get them out of your work space.

Don't forget, we also carry a big supply of vacuum bags, belts and filters as well as those sewing needles, threads, stabilizers, scissors and bobbins that you need.  Stop in and see all the new exciting sewing machines, sergers, and embroidery machines on display.

Happy Sewing
