Another summer is virtually over and our thoughts will soon be on those fall projects we want to get finished. It has been an exciting last month with several companies holding their conventions and introducing “New Products”
Husqvarna Viking held their dealer convention the end of July in Minneapolis. The following are the “New Products”.
DESIGNER RUBY: This beautiful new sewing and embroidery machine has the Viking exclusive features of the sensor system, sensor foot lift, pivot and pressure; sewing advisor as well as embroidery advisor. It has that great 10” arm opening, interactive color touch screen and can be updated with stitches as well as additional embroidery. There are over 300 designs and over 900 sewing stitches and lettering fonts. This machine comes with the 120 x 120 and 200 x 360 hoops. The Designer Ruby is just below the Designer Diamond in the Viking Designer line.
200 x 200 (8” x 8”) Quilters Hoop: packaged with a CD with 3 designs. Perfect for quilt blocks. There is an additional design to download on myembroideries.com with a special discount code.
Embroidery Cutwork Needle Kit: 4 color coded needles and CD with 5 Cutwork designs, video and instructions let your machine do all the cutting. Will only work with cutwork designs digitized for the needle kit.
Three hole yarn foot: Create your own unique trims with this accessory foot and the beautiful decorative stitches on your machine. There are 4 newly created decorative stitches created especially for this foot. These stitches are available on the Designer Diamond upgrade or on the consumer web site under “Sewing Category, Free Stitches”.
Changeable Open Toe Foot: This is a new add-on foot for the interchangeable Dual Feed Foot. The open toe gives optimum visibility of sewing area. Great for crazy patch quilting. There are 4 newly created stitches for this foot. The new stitches are available on the Designer Diamond upgrade or on the consumer web site under “Sewing Category, Free Stitches”.
Changeable ¼” Guide Foot: This is a new add-on foot for the interchangeable Dual Feed Foot. The guide gives you ability to follow the fabric edge for piecing or edge stitching with any thickness.
New Embroidery Designs CD’s: New design CD’s available for the cutwork needle kit, new Quilting Tiles, Cross Stitch, Bobbin Lace, and Christmas Creations.
5D Software: 5D software is now available. If you own 4D, there are upgrades available for you to update to 5D. This new software works with Windows 7 and has exciting new features. This exciting new software works with all brands of embroidery machines.
Because of the popularity of these new items, some may be on backorder until sufficient supply is available so bare with us. We are just as anxious to receive these items as you are to have them.
Now for BROTHER NEWS: Brother convention for dealers was just held in Nashville. The following exciting new products were announced:
Laura Ashley – New Limited Edition: This machine has 430 built-in stitches with 30 additional stitches on a CD. Unlimited My Custom Stitch possibilities; automatic height adjuster; pivot function in work, circular sewing and extra large extension table. This exciting new machine has arrived at Husker Sew Vac.
The Next Dimension in Embroidery: The PR-1000: - Ten needle, needle auto threading commercial embroidery machine. Ability to link 4 machines together and queue up to 100 designs. New larger hoop and larger cap frame capability. LED thread color system, thread eyelet threading system, different light and built-in audio cues, 110 built-in designs, 28 size adjustable embroidery lettering fonts, 3 monogram fonts, 15 coordinating accents, and 10 frame designs. The machine has Design Positioning with the Innov Eye Technology, and snowman positioning marker. There are four frames included as well as an extra large worktable. Optional Items: Jumbo Frame 14 x 14, Border Frame 4 x 12, Quilting Frame 8 x 8, 4”, 5”, & 6” Round Frames, Arm for Round Frames, Wide Cap Frame, driver, and mounting jig, ear to ear design capability, Cylinder Frame, Flat 8 x12 frame, and metal stand. It can be seen at Husker Sew Vac. The popular Brother PR650 is still in the Brother line as a 6 needle machine.
New Quattro 6000D Upgrade: New scan capturing feature that scans what is hooped on the machine and then displays the fabric on the LCD design so an embroidery design can be placed on the fabric; realistic viewing – enhanced on-screen auto resizing from 60% to 200% of original design; a new bobbin case for bobbin work and 14 bobbin work embroidery patterns; enhanced InnovEye Technology features including a centering function grid display and 200% magnification of the needle position; larger thumbnail viewing and improved stitch combination preview and realistic preview; and a connected cursive alphabet. This upgrade is one that every 6000D owner will want and is currently in stock.
PE Design Next: This software is now available. Brother has upgrades available to purchase for your present PE Design 5.0’s and higher. This new program is more windows based, accepts vector designs, more digitized fonts and much more. This software program will work with many brands of embroidery machines.

Follow the instructions on the site or watch their video. You can shop 24 –7 with the use of your credit card on this secure site. You must own a Brother Embroidery machine. There are individual Licensed Designs including new Disney, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, Pixar, and Morango Designs. These designs like all licensed designs cannot be put on items and sold. There are many other categories of designs including alphabets, animals, holidays, home décor, laces and more. This new site allows non-Disney Brother machines to now use Disney designs. The only restriction is the size of hoops your machine uses. The design is registered to you by your model of machine as well as the ID of the machine. JANOME OWNERS: Not to be left out is the exciting new machine in the Janome line – the new Horizon 7700. This professional style machine has the following features: Built-in walking foot and acufeed layered feeding system; 250 stitches including 10 buttonholes, 20 memories and 3 monogram alphabets; 5 ultrabright LED lamps in 3 locations; automatic plate converter to make straight stitching more precise; automatic programmable thread cutter; extra foot pressure and adjustable knee lifter; and open arm and 11” work area. The New 3160QDC: This new 12 pound, full size machine with 60 stitches and 6 one-step buttonholes, one handed needle threader, needle up/down, lock stitch; start/stop button, and thread cutter button. DAKOTA COLLECTIBLES: Great new Christmas Lace special CD in multi-format and one with Christmas Cutwork. The new embroidery club for the quarter is a Nativity Window Scene. When all 20 5 x 5 applique blocks are embroidered and your shashings added, the wall hanging is approximately 28w x 23.5 h. A new Dakota Collectible design catalogue is also now available. We think Dakota is trying to remind us all that it is time to get started on all of your holiday projects.
