SEW HERES THE NEWS

February 6, 2008

Husker Sew Vac will again be a collection site for Project
Linus this year. We are having the collection on Saturday,
March 22, 2008. We will hope for good weather. We are
also hoping the extra month will give all of us that extra
time to get our blankets done.

I talked to Delores Lintel who has worked with Project
Linus in Lincoln since 2003. As of December 31, 2007, she
has distributed 12,879 blankets to Lincoln and Nebraska
area hospitals since 2003. That is comfort to a lot of
children.

The preferred sizes for the blankets are 36" x 36" and 48"
x 48". They will also accept knitted and chrocheted
blankets.

With all the snow, this is a perfect time to start your
Easter and spring sewing projects. That is if you have
your donation for Project Linus already completed.

The Dakota Collectible Embroidery Club for this quarter is
called Applique Fun. This collection has ideas and
directions for seven different projects as well as the
$5.00 coupon for your next purchase and 2 free downloads
from their web site.

Dakota Collectible has great new licensed designs for those
people who do not sell their embroidery. They have
licensed Peter Rabbit and Happy Bunny Baby. From Warner
Brothers they licensed Tweety Bird and 3 great Looney Toon
CD's.

Stop in and take advantage of the 25% off sale on Cactus
Punch in stock designs.

If a new machine is in your future, stop in and check out
our great selection of new sewing machines. We have
embroidery machines, quilting machines and of course just
sewing machines.
It's a great time to upgrade your sewing machine or serger
to start having even more fun.

Happy Sewing
